About the Artist

I've been painting off and on since 1962; more consistently since 1983. I have a Master's degree in Oriental Languages. Studied at a Jr College in Maui, Orange Coast Jr College, Stanford, UCSB, UCB, Stanford Center, Taipei, Taiwan, University of WA. Exported fresh produce for two years and then studied chiropractic at Life West, San Lorenzo; DC degree in 1986. Practiced chiropractic for 20 years, then did medical Utilization Review/Peer Review for 10 years. I currently do some substitute teaching, gardening, tennis and stock trading. Married since 1975.

When I was 18, a plein-air artist set up across the road from us and spent two weeks working on a painting of a neighbor's barn and trees. I began visiting art galleries. When a freshman in Maui, the art teacher said "go out and paint". I keep my easel set up in my bedroom. I've never marketed my paintings and don't sell much. You can find painting on my walls, in my storage locker, behind my bed, bookcase etc. I give some paintings away. If you see anything you would like to purchase let me know.
